Community Involvment

Fair Housing Center of Grand Rapids: Land & Company actively supports & participates along side the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan to empower the housing industry with knowledge. In 2011 Land & Company was awarded the "Fair Housing Award for an Outstanding Organization". This award was the culmination of our numerous efforts to ensure all employees are trained extensively in Fair Housing practices and that all applicants and residents are treated fairly. Land & Company is very honored to be recognized for our efforts and will continue to strive to play an important role with the Fair Housing Organization.

More Self less Organization: Land & Company sponsors a family for the 'I Dream Beautiful' Christmas Event. In 2011 we donated 77 back packs to each child involved and Land & Company in turn filled the back packs with some extra goodies to make sure each child received an extra something on Christmas. In 2012 we sponsored 2 families and Supplied Hats & Mittens for 175 children.

Relay for Life: Each Year Land & Company sponsors their employees to get out and walk for a cure for cancer. This is a 24 hour walk where the employees of Land & Company work together in putting on several fundraisers to raise money for the American Cancer Society. In return Land & Company encourages their team to walk as many laps as possible by sponsoring the team per lap.

Kentwood Community Church: Land & Company has donated a building for the KCC to use to promote an after school mentoring program at the Woodfield location. This program has encouraged us to branch out and look at possibility of doing the same program at York Creek.

Wedgwood Christian Services: Land & Company donates 2 apartments to this organization for after school mentoring and fun for kids. This program has been in effect for several years and has been very successful.

Compassion Your Way: Some Land & Company Communities have partnered with this organization by setting up food drives within our communities.

Toys for Tots: Several Land & Company Communities set up a collection/donation site for the toys for tots each hear to help make Christmas possible for all families in need.

Dwelling Place Organization: Land & Company has reached out to provide temporary housing for those in need while remodels of several buildings are happening all over west Michigan. We have participated in helping find & obtain housing for the Hall Street/Reflections property as well as the Herkimer.

Salvation Army: Several Land & Company Communities are an 'ANGEL TREE' donation site during the Christmas season.

World Mission Thrift Stores: located in Alpine Township, Wyoming, Lansing, Muskegon and Grandville.

Operation Christmas Child: Land & Company donates building space for collection of 30,000 boxes.

Property Management Association of West Michigan: Land & Company is actively involved in contributing and participating in the Property management association.

Literacy Center of West Michigan: Land & Company contributes to the Literacy Center to help accomplish the goal of transforming lives through literacy.

Christian Mission Aid: Land & Company has been a supporter of the Christian Mission Aid for close to 15 years. Helping to provide resources and meet needs.

Tom Ottenwess: Land & Company has sponsored Tom in the 5/3 Riverbank Run for nearly all of his 29 entries! Tom is in the Wheel / Hand Cycle division and looking forward to his 30th consecutive year in 2014!

Crime Prevention Association of Michigan: Land & Company works very closely with the Community Policing Officers in the communities we reside to participate in Crime Free Multi Housing and Crime Free Prevention through Environmental Design programs to ensure the most quality living environments for our residents. As a result of these efforts we were presented with the Crime Prevention Award for 2011. Land & Company will continue to assist to improve the quality of life in our communities.

United Church Outreach Ministry: Land & Company donates space for the United Church Outreach Ministry (UCOM) a great organization that give resources for living.

Fraternal Order of Police: Land & Company contributes to the Fraternal Order of Police a way of saying thanks for those who protect & serve our community.

Disability Advocates of Kent County: Land & Company contributes to this organization to help support independent living for all.

GR Lions Club: L&C makes contributions to support the visually impaired.

Kids Hope USA: Land & Company donates to this organization to help support at risk children.

Michigan Chamber of Commerce: Helping to support the mission & promote conditions favorable to job creation as well as business growth in Michigan.

Breakfast on the Farm: Land & Company has supported this event (BOTF) giving consumers & farm neighbors a first hand look at modern food production.

Streams of Hope: For several years Land & Company has made donations to help make a difference in our own community this organizations operates several food pantries & tutoring for people in need.

SADD: Contributions made to Westwood S.A.D.D. group to help educate & empower our students to make good decisions.

The Employers Association: Land & Company is a member of the TEA an association that promotes operational excellence & empowers our employees.

Jason Kinzler Family First Foundation: Land & Company is proud to support Team Kinzler at the 2013 Fifth Third Riverbank Run in honor of Jason Kinzler's memory.

Camp Blodgett: Land & Company communities help promote awareness of Camp Blodgett great programs.
